Dementia Awareness

The aim is to build staff awareness and their basic knowledge of Dementia.

What we’ll cover: What is dementia; The main types of dementia; Common symptoms of dementia; what duty of care means with dementia; how to care for someone with dementia; how to ensure person-centred care with dementia; adjustments that can be made to promote independence.

End of Life

Build your team’s confidence and knowledge around good end of life care. To support families wishes and enhance your service.

What we’ll cover: What is end of life; Grief management; the impact of a service user’s death; the important of communication and dignity; the difference between advanced and end of life care planning; what makes a good death.

Care Planning

The aim is to enhance staff understanding around good care planning to ensure a person-centred approach to care.

What we’ll cover: The importance of care planning and record keeping; what is person-centred care; key steps to care planning; what a care plan should include; legislation and regulations related to care plans; advanced care planning

Falls Awareness & Prevention

Develop your team’s awareness around falls and how to prevent a fall and limit risk factors.

What we’ll cover: The implications of a fall; the hazards and risks around falls; the impact a fall has on a service user; what to do if someone has a fall; how to document falls; duty of care; practical experience through a fall scenario.
